Lance Raymundo's YATO Gets Resurrected Like His Jesus Christ Roles
#YATO (You Are The One) is one of the singer-songwriter's 200 songs which caught the attention of Viva Records. The actor, who's currently single. dedicates the song to his ex-girlfriend. When he's not doing acting stints in independent movies or playing Jesus Christ in Martir sa Golgota, Lance Raymundo is dabbling in his greatest passion which is music.
"I'm just happy to be alive and I'm thankful to God that I'm alive," he said regarding his accident 4 years ago in a gym which left his face crushed, prompting him to go through reconstructive surgery. He likes the way his MTV director from Viva, Joel Mendoza, handled his material. He described him as having sensitivity.
"Kinilala niya ako bilang tao. And from gathering info about me, this is how he put together the material needed for the video." Joel's actually the one who suggested he incorporate this challenging part of Lance's life into the video. One of the highlights is when his leading lady in the video, Janna Victoria, cries after seeing his face though what happened to his face was not shown. "Our characters love each other for what we are, hindi sa panglabas," stressed Lance.
The official start of Lance Raymundo's career as a musician was in 2000, when he released his self-titled album with then tracks, six of which he wrote and the rest he assisted in the creation process. "Ito yung totoo kong sound ever since. And now, I'm more comfortable with my career, with myself, that I don't need to pretend to be something I'm not. I don't need to go along with the trend," he said with confidence regarding his re-released ballad.
He is also a model for the 2019 brand which features suits for men alonside Rannie Raymundo, Christian Vasquez, and Yul Servo. His other hit single was Fatanas, which was part of his second album, Wolf Sound. You Are The One (#YATO) is out on iTunes and Spotify under Viva Records and the music video is available on Youtube.
