Netizens shared photos of the quake’s aftermath on social media. The pictures showed shattered churches, houses and other buildings following the jolt.
According to a Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs ) bulletin, the temblor was recorded at 4:42 a.m., with its epicenter located some nine kilometers southeast of Carrascal, at a depth of five kilometers.
The quake was also felt in Butuan City and other parts of Caraga. Several aftershocks have been reported and multiple injuries were also reported.
